 FOSEs leadership program offers formidable lineup for CXOs

FOSE 2006s leadership program boasts a lineup of government heavy hitters.

The program, aimed at CIOs, chief financial officers, chief human capital officers and chief acquisition officers, will kick off March 7 at the Washington Convention Center with an executive breakfast featuring Defense Information Systems Agency CIO John Garing, and Kevin Carroll, the Army's program executive officer for enterprise information systems. The panel will be moderated by Tom Temin, PostNewsweek Tech Media senior vice president, editorial.

Also on March 7, at the Presidents Management Agenda luncheon, Paul Brinkley, deputy undersecretary of Defense for defense transformation, and Thomas Modly, deputy undersecretary of Defense for financial management, will discuss the Defense Departments effort to transform the way it does business.

March 8s executive breakfast at FOSE will begin with Ed Meagher, deputy CIO of the Interior Department, in the speakers chair. In the afternoon, the program will include a series of CXO council reports. First up will be the CIO Council report, during which Karen Evans, the Office of Management and Budgets administrator for e-government and IT, and Dave Wennergren, Navy Department CIO, will provide an update on the council activities and talk about its strategic plan for 2006. Other council reports scheduled for that afternoon are:

CAO Council report. Glenn Perry, director of contracts and purchasing operations at the Education Department, will give an update on the councils effort to implement acquisition workforce standards for training and development across the government. Other topics will include the status of the integrated acquisition environment and plans for the PMAs competitive sourcing initiative.

CHCO Council report. Bob Danbeck, Office of Personnel Managements chief human capital officer and associate director of OPMs human resources products and services division, will moderate a panel of CHCOs from a cross section of federal agencies. The panel will address efforts to deploy the PMAs strategic human capital initiative and other CHCO Council priorities for this year.

Also on tap at FOSE on the afternoon of March 8 is a Lines of Business report and cybersecurity update, moderated by John Sindelar, deputy associate administrator at the General Services Administration.
