The General Services Administration recently named Barney Brasseux acting deputy commissioner of the Federal Acquisition Service.

Brasseux, who has been with GSA for 13 years, replaces Marty Wagner, who retired Jan. 31. He will serve in the acting role until a new deputy commissioner is named, GSA said.

Before becoming acting deputy commissioner, Brasseux had been assistant commissioner for travel, motor vehicles and card services.

"I'm looking forward to working more closely with Barney on the major challenges facing FAS," said Jim Williams, FAS commissioner.

Besides working for FAS, Brasseux was assistant commissioner for vehicle acquisition and leasing services, and chief of staff for GSA's Federal Supply Service under Frank Pugliese.
