 Van Derhoff to step down as State CIO

James Van Derhoff, the State Departments chief information officer, has decided to retire from the government at the end of November.

Van Derhoffs career at State spans more than three decades, and he has served in Lebanon, Pakistan, Kenya, Panama, Uruguay, Japan and Germany. He has also held various information technology and information management posts during his tenure.

Van Derhoff has won many agency and group awards in addition to Senior Performance Pay. He has not yet announced his future professional plans.
