Brown named OPM modernization director

By Richard W. Walker

The Office of Personnel Management has named Reginald Brown director of its modernization and Human Resources Line of Business operations. He takes over for Joseph Campbell, coordinator of OPM’s HR LOB Shared Service Center, who has served as acting director for the past five months.

Brown was director of transformation planning and performance at the Defense Department’s Business Transformation Agency, where he led efforts to improve financial accountability through DOD’s Enterprise Transition Plan.

Previously, Brown served as deputy director of transformation support in the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense. He began his federal career at the Regional Financial Services Department of the Naval Supply Center in Oakland, Calif.

His wealth of experience in business transformation initiatives at DOD makes him well-suited to his new job, said OPM Director Linda Springer.

“As director of modernization at OPM, he’ll help us achieve the same kinds of transformative leadership in systems development, systems implementation and project management,” Springer said.

Richard W. Walker writes for Federal Computer Week, an 1105 Government Information Group publication.
